Welcome to IPAC SASKPIC!

SASKPIC is the Saskatchewan chapter of Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC Canada) and provides a forum for networking, education and collaboration. We also provide educational funding related to infection prevention and control for our members. Our chapter is currently comprised of 74 members - 26 with CIC designation, including:

  • Persons employed or interested in infection prevention and control, such as physicians, managers, lab technicians, nurses, public health inspectors, etc.
  • Industry representatives.

New members are encouraged to join. If you are interested, please contact any of the Chapter Executive listed on the "Quick Index" menu of our website.

The SASKPIC website also contains a Provincial Infection Control Network of Saskatchewan (PICNS) menu. Provincial guidelines and protocols, such as Guidelines for the Management of Clostridium difficile Infections (CDI) in all Health Care Settings, Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) in Continuing Care Settings, and Surgical Site Infection (SSI) Surveillance Protocol: Saskatchewan can be accessed here, as well as meeting notes and local education opportunities. We encourage everyone to take advantage of these resources!

The IPAC Canada 2018 national education conference will be held in Quebec City, Quebec May 26 – 29, 2019.  This year it will be a conjoint conference between the International Federation for Infection Control (IFIC) and IPAC Canada. The theme for this year is Innovate, Integrate, Motivate.  There will be education on topics ranging from Community and ambulatory to Medical Device reprocessing to Mentorship. For those able to attend, the conference aims to provide cutting edge knowledge, information and tools from national and international sources to promote awareness of new approaches, novel technologies and innovative concepts and products, as well as to support growth in leadership, education and communication skills.

The IPAC SASKPIC Fall Conference and AGM will be held in the fall of 2019 in Saskatoon,  SK. The one-day conference and meeting is open to all those interested in networking, promoting good infection prevention and control practices in our daily activities, and making safety a priority! We hope to see you there!
